For the past 10 years, the La Morena program has showcased the work of women farmers across Guatamala. Started in 2016 with 4 producers and a dream, La Morena has grown to feature coffee from 23 women-owned farms and is well on its way to empowering more women in a male-dominated industry.
In 2023, over 800 women farmers span the coffee-growing regions of Huehuetenango and Baja Verapaz. What started as a micro-lot of about 2,000 lbs of coffee has blossomed into a platform that strongly addresses gender inequality in coffee.
This coffee is incredibly mellow and subtle. Rich notes of milk chocolate, stone fruit, brown sugar, dried cherry and marzipan are found throughout this cup and has been an all time customer favorite for many years!

We love our coffee! It is fresh and tastes amazing!
My wife and I both love the Big Blue Coffee Roasters La Morena coffee. Besides its benefitting the female workers its just great roasted coffee. In fact, I just purchased a 5 - 1 lb lot. It's great to support a local business owner who produces a great product.
